Kikanza Ramsey-Ray is the mother of three children ages 13, 9, and 6. She has spent two decades dedicating herself to teaching, community service and community building including organizing in the social justice and peace movement, teaching English as a second language, and teaching art, imaginative play, and creative movement to children and parents. Kikanza’s work with children and families is influenced by several philosophies including attachment parenting, a Waldorf and Enki homeschoolers curriculum, and other progressive education philosophies that emphasize the importance of nurturing the life force of children and respecting children’s self exploration. Kikanza has engaged in study at the Center for Non-Violent Parenting and Education and the Waldorf Institute of Southern California. She is fluent in Spanish and is committed to healing and well-being through healthy eating for children and families.
